PEUMP Objectives – KRA 3 “Sustainable management of fisheries resources and ecosystems improved through better quality scientific information, legal advice, support, mentoring and empowerment of coastal communities” (3.1) Surveys of commercially important invertebrates; (3.2) socio-economic surveys of coastal communities including gender segregated data; (3.3) coastal fisheries data collection and national database development including trials of new technology; (3.4) support and mentoring for the community ecosystem approach to fisheries management (CEAFM) at national and local levels; (3.5) CEAFM management and coordination with NGOs; (3.6) CEAFM activities at sub-national and community level; (3.7) communication activities and production and dissemination of information and materials for communities; (3.8) capacity development through long-term and short-term attachments for national fisheries and NGO staff; (3.9) Outreach activities including adaptation with communities; (3.10) gender-based and rights-based trainings, national gender stock takes
