6 What is Desktop App Assure?
Desktop App Assure provides remote assistance to customers deploying Windows 10, Office 365 ProPlus and subsequent feature updates, and who experience valid compatibility issues - at no additional cost with an eligible subscription (150+ licenses). Services in Scope Customer Developed Line of Business (LOB) Applications Determine the root cause and recommend code changes to an application Shim applications where source code is not available Address Windows 10 regressions impacting application compatibility Independent Software Vendor (ISV) Applications Determine root cause and partner with ISVs to remediate their applications Engage ISVs to onboard them to Windows 10 and secure Windows 10 Support Statements Microsoft Windows and Office Applications Address compatibility issues with add-ins and macros transitioning from Office perpetual clients to Office 365 ProPlus on Windows 10 Address Microsoft products and services targeting a supported version of Windows 10 Address compatibility issues with Windows 10 desktop and web apps For more information, visit aka.ms/DesktopAppAssure Key Points to Deliver and Capture​ Why have we made this program available?​ We want to help our customers around the world remediate their apps and deploy Windows 10 and Office 365 ProPlus We have to learn from our customers, so that we can

Customer and/or Partner Accountabilities FastTrack can't remediate older versions of ISV apps, add-ins, or macros if there are newer versions supported in Windows 10 and Office 365 ProPlus Inventory and test applications to determine what does and does not work on Windows 10 Research 3rd-party ISV applications in your inventory for Windows 10 compatibility support statements Make code level changes to customer applications (although Microsoft can provide guidance to developers if source code and resources are made available) Packaging of applications which do not require remediation Project management of customer’s remediation activities Key Points to Deliver and Capture Though we don’t support these activities, we have resources that can help customers with: Application inventory Researching 3rd party applications – Ready for Windows. If you cannot locate a specific 3rd party ISV application support statement, we can help with that. Code level changes – Microsoft cannot change your application source code, but our engineers will help pinpoint the problem and make recommendations to address the issue We will package only the applications that we remediate when we apply a shim to remediate the application We are not able to provide application packaging for all customer apps <application packaging is out scope> More Context  If we <DAA> remediate an application by providing a shim, then our DAA App Compat Factory team would then repackage the application for the customer See the service description for particulars Desktop App Assure Service Description:

8 Next Steps Identify and test Windows 10 apps, websites and Office 365 ProPlus macros and add-ins that are essential to business operations (leverage Ready for Windows and/or Office Readiness Toolkit) Review Desktop App Assure eligibility and service description at aka.ms/DesktopAppAssure Submit request for assistance at aka.ms/DesktopAppAssureRequest Recommend arranging for a weekly recurring meeting to engage until resolved Customer needs to arrange for a technically knowledgeable party to address questions - Developer if this is a custom LOB application and/or - Application Owner from IT org Access to the application source code will be helpful if available
