Gerund – ing form of the verb used as a noun Ex. – Skiing is fun. 1.Monomial - an expression in algebra consisting of a single term, e.g. 3y, 1. Legislature - an official body, usually chosen by election, with the power to make, change, and repeal laws Catalyst - a substance that increases the rate of a chemical reaction without itself undergoing any change 2.participle - ing or past participle form of the verb used as an adjective The skiing dog was funny. 2.nonlinear equation – an equation whose graph does not form a straight line 2.neutral – not for or against, doesn’t take sides chemical change - Chemical changes take place on the molecular level. A chemical change produces a new substance. Examples of chemical changes include combustion (burning), cooking an egg, rusting of an iron pan, and mixing hydrochloric acid and sodium hydroxide to make salt and water. 3. Linking Verbs is, am, are, was, were, be, being, and been; the sense verbs look, taste, smell, feel, and sound; and verbs like become, seem, appear, grow, continue, stay, and turn, elect, name, select Linking verbs are used in SVN and SVA sentences. It sets up an equation.
