1 Science Course Model Update
High School Science Course Model Update Grades 9 through 12 School Board Meeting March 5, 2019

2 Update Summary The presented Science Pathway Model has been designed to support the needs of all students to achieve college and/or career readiness in Science. They have chosen to follow a hybrid of the 3 Course and 4 Course models as presented by the State of California, to allow flexibility among pathways driven by student interest. The differentiated pathways provide the best access for our students to meet their needs within our two year science requirements; but three years of science is highly recommended. If a student chooses a two year science path, they are strongly encouraged to take a CTE course pursuing career readiness. Professional development, in coordination with science teachers, will need to be provided for counselors, administration, and any other personnel associated with course selection.
