Yonkers Online YPS students have multiple experiences online:
Children’s Progress, MAP for more than 15 years in K – 2 MAP testing has been in place for 4 years All schools have participated in NYS 3-8 ELA and Math Field Testing for the past 3 years Experience with online resources: Khan Academy Study Island used in district In the school, YPS administered the NYS 3-8 ELA and Math operational tests by computer.

To access CBT resources, log into Clever at: clever.com/in/yonkers. YPS partners with Clever. Clever is a single sign – on program that allows our students and staff to access all our instructional technology from any device with one username and password. All members of the YPS learning community have access to the resources on clever.

Castle Learning: Castle Learning provides practice questions in multiple content areas for grades K-12 including math and ELA. To access self-study options: Go to Castle Learning from the Clever portal Click on “Self Study” from the left menu Select the appropriate grade level and “Expert Mode” Math is organized by standards ELA is organized by topic-to practice with reading passages, select “Reading-Critical Reading Selections”

Khan Academy: Khan Academy is a learning resource that offers videos and practice exercises in multiple content areas, including Yonkers' K-8 math curriculum. Additional Resources Readworks.org Zearn Razkids Study Island
ReadWorks is an online resource of reading passages and lesson plans for students in all grade levels. Zearn Zearn Math is a K-5 math curriculum based on Eureka Math / EngageNY with top-rated materials for teacher-led and digital instruction. Razkids Online guided reading program with interactive ebooks, downloadable books, and reading quizzes. Study Island A leading academic software provider of standards-based assessment, instruction, and test preparation e-learning programs. ABCya.com ABCya.com is a website that provides educational games and activities for school-aged children. The games on the website are organized into grade levels from pre-kindergarten to fifth grade, as well as into subject categories such as letters, numbers, and holidays These resources are great for improving reading and foundational skills leading to student achievement. As students use these resources they will naturally strengthen the technical skills needed to work on a computer.

New York States Grade 3-8 CBT Question Sampler
The New York Question Sampler lets educators, students, and parents see what the New York State Grades 3-8 ELA and Math test questions will look like on a computer. It includes questions in ELA and Math for every grade 3-8 test. The Sampler also includes practice tests for student testing accommodations, such as Text-to-Speech and Reverse Contrast. Please visit this site through Clever: Part of preparing for CBT includes being comfortable with the online testing platform, Nextera. For practice students can use the questions sampler. You can access the sampler through clever.

Equation Editor Sampler
The online Equation Editor Sampler is an "empty" Equation Editor response box that is not associated with a practice test question. Teachers can provide their own math question to students who can respond with the Equation Editor Sampler to become familiar with the Equation Editor as an online tool. To use the Equation Editor Sampler, select Math, the grade level, and then "Equation Editor Sampler" from the Select Test drop-down menu:

Things to Know about the “Empty” Equation Editor
The Equation Editor Sampler is offered only in the online Question Sampler. The "empty" Equation Editor Sampler launches on-screen for students and includes all online tools as well as the Review screen that will be available in the operational CBT Math exams in the spring. The Equation Editor Sampler function buttons are specific to the three grade bands: grades 3-4, grades 5-6, and grades 7-8. Grade band specific reference guides for the Equation Editor button function are available at yonkerspublicschools.org/cbt and cbtsupport.nysed.gov Use of the Equation Editor Sampler can help create new dialogue in the classroom for how students can use technology to show their work for Math answers.

ELA Response Box Sampler
The new ELA Response Box Sampler allows students to practice using the constructed response box as they will do for the operational CBT ELA exams in the spring. The online ELA Response Box Sampler is an "empty" ELA constructed response (CR) box that is not associated with a practice test question. Some testing accommodations, such as Reverse Contrast and Background Color, can also be reviewed by students with the ELA Response Box Sampler. To use the ELA Response Box Sampler, select ELA, the grade level, and then “ELA Response Box Sampler" from the Select Test drop-down menu:

Things to Know About the ELA Response Box Sampler
Teachers can provide their own ELA passage and question to students who can respond using the ELA Response Box Sampler to become familiar with the CR response box as an online tool for typing their response. Released test questions from years prior can be found on here: mathematics-state-test-questions The ELA Response Box Sampler allows students to experience the undo/redo features and how to resize the CR box onscreen. The "empty" ELA Response Box Sampler launches on-screen for students and includes all online tools such as the review screen, notepad, highlighter, line reader, and more. The Response Box Sampler included five “empty” CRs per Response Box Sampler. This allows students to not only gain experience with the online testing tools, but also with the navigation prior to sitting for the CBT exams.
