Mission Founders The real founder of the San Fernando Rey De Espana was Father Fermin Lasuen with his assistant Fray Fransico Dumetz

Mission History The missions bells are artifacts at the mission. This mission has had many earthquakes that destroyed the missions churches. They have had to build the church multiple times because of the earthquakes.

Mission Agriculture Over the years , the mission harvested over 156,000 of food such as, wheat, barley, corn , and other fruits and vegetables.

Mission Life It took a long time to get food for everyone at the mission. The San Fernando Rey De Espana went on a strict schedule. The mission bell would ring at 6 am in the morning and at noon. This missions lifestyle was different. This mission also produced wine from its grapevines.

Mission Tradition A tradition of the San Fernando Valley is Indigenous People Day . It celebrates how Christopher Columbus didn’t find America, the Native Americans did.

People of the Mission The Chumash and the Tongva lived at the mission very peacefully. The Chumash arrived before the Tongva arrived at the mission. The Tongva arrived after but they have a lot in common.

Mission Geography The San Fernando Mission was made 243 feet in length of 50 in width. It was made by adobe walls which are 4 of them and it has a library. Also, some people don’t know this but, the San Fernando Rey De Espana is the largest mission out of the 21 missions and is known for its popularity.
