3. Animism Idea that the spiritual & physical worlds are deeply connected
Belief that souls exist in everything including animals, rocks, wind, rain, etc.
Isn’t an organized religion with an institution
Doesn't have sacred literature
Often part of other religions

4. Atheism Is the absence of belief in any Gods or spiritual beings.
A = without Theism = belief in god or gods.
Don't use God to explain the existence of the universe.
Believe humans can devise suitable moral codes to live by w/o the aid of Gods or scriptures.

5. Agnosticism
Belief: since there is no proof there is no way of knowing whether god(s) exist(s)
Theist agnostics - believe in god but thinks that existence of god cannot be known
Atheist agnostics – don’t believe in god and thinks that existence of god cannot be known
