Profiles on more than 20,000 organizations, 70,000 personnel and 4,500 product categories Fleet data on more than 120,000 commercial, military and business aviation aircraft Over 3,000 suppliers to 60 major aircraft and engine programs An archive that goes back over 11 years and contains over 275,000 articles, 20,000 charts and tables and 46,000 photographs

4 Getting Started Browser Settings
It is advisable to make sure your browser settings are correct in order to assure the AWIN exportability function operates properly 1. On the Internet browser, click on “Tools” 2. Then click on “Internet Options” toward the bottom 3. After that, click on the “Security” tab 4. On this page, click on “Custom Level” 5. You will end up on the “Security Settings” page

When the Security Settings page is showing, make sure the settings are set to: Run Components not signed with Authenticode – ENABLE Run Components signed with Authenticode – ENABLE ActiveX controls and plug-ins: Automatic prompting for ActiveX Controls – ENABLE Binary and script behavior – ENABLE Download signed ActiveX Controls – PROMPT Download unsigned ActiveX Controls – DISABLE Initialized and script ActiveX Controls not marked as safe – DISABLE Run ActiveX Controls and plug-ins – ENABLE Script ActiveX Controls marked safe for scripting –

6 Getting Started Browser Settings To enable downloads:
Automatic prompting for file downloads – ENABLE File download – ENABLE Font download – ENABLE Miscellaneous settings that should be in place: Access data sources across domains – DISABLE Allow META REFRESH – ENABLE Allow scripting of Internet Explorer web browser control – DISABLE Allow script-initiated windows without size or position constraints – DISABLE Allow web pages to use restricted protocols for active content – PROMPT Display mixed Content – PROMPT Don’t prompt for client certificate selection when no certificates or only one certificate exists - DISABLE

Miscellaneous settings that should be in place (continued): Drag and drop or copy and past files – ENABLE Installations of desktop items – PROMPT Launching programs and files in an IFRAME – PROMPT Navigate sub-frames across different domains – ENABLE Open files based on content, not file extension – ENABLE Software channel permissions – MEDIUM SAFETY Submit non-encrypted form data – ENABLE Use pop-up block – ENABLE Use data persistence – ENABLE Websites in less privileged web content zone can navigate into this zone - ENABLE

8 Getting Started Browser Settings Scripting settings
Active scripting – ENABLE Allow paste operations vie script – ENABLE Scripting of java applets – ENABLE User Authentication Logon Automatic logon only in Intranet zone Reset Custom Settings Medium Once all settings are correct, click the OK Button then at the new screen, click the OK Button again. The settings will now allow you to export.

In addition to the day’s top news stories, the homepage provides… A fast method to jump directly to a specific segment of the market The ability to perform quick or advanced searches Easy knowledge of product rights and the ability to jump directly to a specific product

10 Navigation - Access and Rights within AWIN
Included in the left hand column of the homepage is a box that shows exactly what you have access to within the site, publications as well as data

11 Navigation - The AWIN Homepage: Articles
You can easily jump to a specific market segment using the tabs Each segment’s page contains the top 4 stories, as well as a link to jump to that particular channel; the Charts and Graphs segment contains the 5 most recent charts and/or graphs Article sources and dates are clearly noted

12 Navigation - Channel Homepages
When you click on a channel and go to its homepage: Atop the middle column, you will see the featured or lead story, the one the editorial staff feels is the most noteworthy Underneath will be recent stories Further below that are additional stories from within that segment

13 Navigation - Product Homepages
You can tell a product’s homepage by the way it is noted at the top When you click on the homepage of a specific product, the featured story will always appear first, followed by the rest of the issue underneath You have the ability to jump to past issues of that product by using the Search Past Issues box which appears on the product’s home page

14 Navigation - Charts and Graphs
When you arrive at the Charts and Graphs homepage, you will see a listing of the 50 most recent charts and graphs Chart or graph title, product and date are clearly noted

15 Searching Within AWIN Quick Search
The easiest method to locate the intelligence you are looking for within the site is Quick Search, located in the upper left portion of each page Once you type in the program, topic, etc. you need information on, the powerful search engine will search through all the databases that are contained within AWIN: Articles Organizations Fleet Products / Services Personnel Program Suppliers

Across the top of the result page, you will see your search terms, along with the results, broken down by the database they came from While the results page displays a few of the results from each database, to see the results from one specific database, simply click on that database Articles(7251) | Organizations(23) | Fleets(5) Products/Services(8) | Personnel(66) | Program Suppliers(2824) Note that only products you have access to through your AWIN subscription will be searched

17 Searching Within AWIN Advanced Search Article Search
Offers the opportunity to segment the search by selecting specific products, locations, etc. through the use of multiple filters Provides the ability to search through an archive that goes back over 11 years and you can determine how the results are displayed

First select the type of search to run – natural language or Boolean Then add filters to the search Note which products(s) to include The search dates How to display the results Then click on the APPLY FILTERS button at the bottom Note that the only products you can select to search are those you have access to

19 Searching Within AWIN Advanced Search World Aerospace Database
Using the World Aerospace Database is ideal if you are looking for: Organizations Personnel A Personnel Mailing List Products and Services Program Suppliers You can also locate Fleet by Aircraft Model, Engine Model and Operator through a World Aerospace Database search

20 Searching Within AWIN Advanced Search World Aerospace Database
After making note of the report type you would like, select the criteria for your search; click to expand the filters from which you can choose: Business Criteria Keywords Location Personnel Fleet Products / Services If you have made selections from within a filter section, click on the APPLY FILTERS button at the bottom of that section. You can then close that filter section. If you don’t click the APPLY FILTERS button from within each section, your selections won’t be applied in your search

21 Searching Within AWIN Fleet Advanced Search
AWIN provides access to operators of 30,000 commercial aircraft, 26,000 business aircraft and 60,000 manned military aircraft around the word Searching is done within one of three unique fleet sectors: Commercial Aviation Military Aviation Business Aviation

After you enter your search parameters, you will see a table listing all the possible results (here a search was run for Fleet by Operator and Japan Airlines)

Click on the result you care to see and you will be taken to the homepage for that Operator. In addition to firm specific intelligence, you can also access from this page (if applicable): A fleet profiles A listing of company personnel Branch office locations A profile of products and services Program Supplier profiles Profiles of related organizations

24 Searching Within AWIN Advanced Search Results
When you run an Article or Word Aerospace Database search, as you apply your search filters, a box will appear in the right hand column showing the results of your search. As you add or remove filters, the results information will update accordingly

26 AWIN User Tools – MyAWIN: Custom News Alerts
Setting up MyAWIN Profiles Once on the MyAWIN homepage, you will see a header in the right hand column “ Delivery Preferences”. This is where you make note of how you would like to receive/view your alerts After this is filled out, scroll down to the tabbed table and click on “Create a new Saved Article Search”. This will take you to the page where you set up your profiles

Setting up MyAWIN Profiles The first thing to do is name the profile The name can not be longer than 15 characters Make note of your search terms You can use a plain language query or use the search assistant Follow this with your search parameters The length of time How results are displayed Make note of which products you want searched Then, click on the save and Close Button

With an icon located in the AWIN Tools box, you can register to receive AWIN’s exclusive news on your desktop You can select headlines from a specific channel or publication Every time there is an update, you will receive links to the new article
