2. I promised you a question last week that could determine the extent of success in the family.
This question applies to every member, father, mother, brother, sister and according to age, will determine how much of a buy in or dedication or commitment one will choose.
The greater the commitment the greater the success.

3. WHAT CAN I DO FOR YOU?

4. This was Jesus’ foundational teaching in regard to success in the family or any other relationship.
And hearing this, the ten became indignant with the two brothers. 25 But Jesus called them to Himself and said, “You know that the rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and their great men exercise authority over them. 26 It is not this way among you, but whoever wishes to become great among you shall be your servant, 27 and whoever wishes to be first among you shall be your slave; 28 just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many.” Matthew 20:24-28

You are envious and cannot obtain; so you fight and quarrel. You do not have because you do not ask. 3 You ask and do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, so that you may spend it on your pleasures James 4:1-3

In Matthew 13 we are told in a parable about seeds, sowing and reaping. When Jesus explains the seed that fell on soil that was mixed with thorns He likened them to cares and pleasures of life.

They wage war

9. 5 Or do you think that the Scripture speaks to no purpose: “He jealously desires the Spirit which He has made to dwell in us”? 6 But He gives a greater grace. Therefore it says, “God is opposed to the proud, but gives grace to the humble.” 7 Submit therefore to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. 8 Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded. 9 Be miserable and mourn and weep; let your laughter be turned into mourning and your joy to gloom. 10 Humble yourselves in the presence of the Lord, and He will exalt you James 4:5-10

Resist: To withstand, strive against, or oppose
Promise: He will flee
