Phase 6

2 Fire Safety Be Aware of Exits at all times.
On hearing alarm leave the room immediately. Take nearest stairs to Ground Floor Exit. Go to your Designated Assembly Point. Wait for Roll Call. Do Not Re-enter the Building.

Phase 6 exams held on week 10 (Duration of exams subject to change) Wk Module 1,2 & 3 Practical 14hrs Related Theory 2hrs Related Drawing 2hrs

5 Examinations Coursework assignment given out on wk 2 and delivered in wk 8. 2,000 words on a given topic. Research the history and development of your given Topic Include sketches & working drawings where appropriate To be delivered orally in a ten minute presentation. 5 minutes allowed for questions.

6 Attendance Full attendance is expected from each student
Students must sign the attendance sheets when starting classes at 9.00 & 2.00 Failure to sign these sheets can result in loss of payment

7 Attendance These sheets should not be defaced in any way including signing another persons name Students may not leave class without permission If a Student fails to attend class a written explanation must be submitted to the College Authorities

8 Punctuality Classes begin at 9.00 and 2.00
Students must be present at these times Persistent lates will not be tolerated This includes returning from breaks

9 Health & Safety To ensure the safety of yourself and others try to be safety aware at all times do not engage in any fooling around especially in workshops Safety Boots must be worn in the workshop Wear Ear Plugs, Dust Masks & Goggles when needed Be aware of Fire Exits and Potential Fire Hazards

10 Discipline Good behaviour is expected from each student at all times, whether in Classroom, Practical room, Canteen or in any other section of the Institute. This includes Bad Language. Respect should be shown to each other and to school property

11 Rules & Regulations No Food, Drink, Newspapers or Magazines in class
Mobile phones must be switched off during class times Do Not Drink Alcohol during school hours. Do not engage in excessive drinking during the school week, if you are not fit for class the following morning you will not be allowed to attend class.

12 Workshop Rules Suitable clothing & shoes MUST be worn
Long Hair MUST be tied back No baggy sleeves Safe practice – Keep Both Hands behind sharp edges eg. when using chisel, or when adjusting Planes. Remember the screwdriver can slip. Keep Workbench clean & tidy. If tools are not in use return to Locker. ( Max. 4 tools on bench)

13 Workshop Rules If Tools are in use keep them in the well of the bench . Turn the Plane on its side to protect the blade. Always keep Chisel Blades facing in. DO NOT leave Cramps lying around. Always return to rack after removal of your work. Do not use any machines unless you have been shown how to use them
