Young Club- Founded in 2010
Small and shrinking Harvard Community – total Pool of 82 alumni (over 100 in 2011)
Even smaller Alumni base (excluding executive education) - 58 at last count
Membership hovering around 30-35

3. Club Mission In a club of 35 members Networking not a priority
Inaugural Club Statement: “Our aspiration is to act as a conduit for the exchange of knowledge and ideas between the Cypriot Community and World Renown Modern Thinkers on Current Issues that Capture the Imagination and Interest of our Countrymen”

4. Bi-Monthly Lunch Events – Why?
Need arising out of inherent problems of small size
After an inaugural event of 400 people and national press and TV coverage have been organizing two major events per year, both Dinner/Speaker events. One in early December and one in May/June
Need to attract speakers of high standing/reputation
Minimum attendance
Open these events to non members. Guests of members plus active promotion
Successful dinner speech events with attendance ranging from – a good dinner crowd for any speaker-.

5. But…………
Members not really getting any value added out of their membership
Brainstormed for ideas, came up with bi-monthly lunch events

6. What Exactly Is It?
Lunch with an important leader of our community during which our members can actually have a conversation. Unique opportunity to have an interactive encounter with someone who is not so easy to reach otherwise.
Made arrangements with local restaurant to have a set menu, preferably different each time
Private area
Maximum of fifteen attendees plus the guest of honor, on first come first serve basis
One table, One Conversation
Use of Board Members’ network to invite the guest of honor
