Cosmetology Information
A $25 fee is required at time of enrollment to acquire a student permit through the Texas Department of Licensing & Regulation. May pay with cash or credit card. • First semester, student must purchase Milady Standard Cosmetology textbook, Study Guide and Exam Review book, approximately $330 new. • Any color scrub top with black scrub bottoms. Name and logo must be embroidered on top, $13. • Kits and storage trolley will be furnished during the first fall and spring semesters. • Beginning the first summer semester, student will have to purchase complete professional kit which includes shears, clippers, mannequins, etc., and all necessary items. Approximately $1100. • Trolley, $99 to $140, dependent upon where purchased. • CSME2441, $52 due when enrolling in class to pay for state board written test to be taken during last semester. $74 is due when scheduling state practical final after graduation.

Courses will be held in the afternoon (looking at a 1:00-3:00 time) on the NCTC Gainesville Campus Industrial Technology courses have industry recognized stackable credentials students can earn through successful completion Occupational Skills Achievement Award (formerly Marketable Skills Achievement Award): Earned after completion of first credit hours Level 1 Certificate: Earned after completion of credit hours Associate of Applied Science (AAS): earned after 60 credit hours Pathway to BAAS: Transferability to several Texas Universities’ BAAS programs Typically a high school student will earn an Occupational Skills Achievement Award and some courses toward a Level 1 while in high School.
