INTRODUCTION:
Today we begin a study of the Holy Spirit that includes:

He convinces (John 16:7-8)
He intercedes (Romans 8:26)
3--He is treated as a person
He is blasphemed (Matthew 12:31)
He is lied to (Acts 5:3,90
He is resisted (acts 7:51)
He is grieved (Ephesians 4:30)
4--He is referred to by personal pronouns “He” & “Who” instead of “it “ and “what.”

7. Most interesting because the Greek word “Spirit” pneuma is neuter and would require a neuter pronoun “it.” But in John 15:26 the masculine “he” is used for Him and in John 16:7 the masculine “who” is used! (Likewise in Eph 1:14).
The Point is The Holy Spirit is a person (not a force or energy but a person who thinks, feels, and makes choices)!
Therefore, He is personally involved in our lives and we grieve Him when we sin!
II. The Holy Spirit is God
1--He is identified as God (Acts 5:3,4)
