2 Definitions Utopia: is an ideal society. It has been used to describe both planned communities that attempt to create an ideal society, and fictional societies portrayed in literature. (The Garden of Eden) Dystopia: a society that is the opposite of ideal. A dystopian society is a state in which the conditions of life are extremely bad, characterized by human misery, poverty, oppression, violence, disease, and/or pollution.

3 Utopias Utopian society is founded on perfectionism and fulfillment.

7 Dystopias Most dystopias have put severe restrictions on lives.
It is a culture where the condition of life is extremely bad. Dystopias can be described as a utopian society with at least one fatal flaw.
