Template: How this works
OBJECTIVE: This is STILL a research project, like the original essay-portfolio. The DIFFERENCE is HOW you will be presenting your research. You get to pick a different, artistic option to show me what you have learned about the topic you chose. Conducting effective research, and communicating the significance (application and synthesis) of that information is a skill you will need for the rest of your life! Essential Questions What facts about the event does your reader need to have in order to understand the event’s importance to new citizens? Why is this event important for new citizens to understand? What perspective do your primary sources bring to understanding the event? How do your primary sources help you make your argument? INSTRUCTIONS: Choose your topic. Choose how you intend to present your topic artistically. Acquire the appropriate resources. Analyze the resources and develop research information that helps to address the essential questions. Using new knowledge and artistry, create a presentation that reflects those essential questions. Included written summary to address your interpretation of those essential questions. *IMPORTANT- Imagine that you are standing in the middle of an art exhibition and you have the ability to tell the patrons about your piece. If you can see in your artwork a way to discuss or present the “essential questions” above, then you have been successful in your creation! Your artwork carried the message! Think about symbolism, special words or objects that you used in your piece to represent those essential questions. That’s how you make this work!!
