Graphing to find Asymptotes
When entering in the calculator, group the numerator together in parenthesis; Do the same with the denominator To Find the Asymptotes, use F1 “Trace” Asymptote: What values of x make the denominator = 0 (factor and set = 0)? -- Write as “x = #” Asymptote: As the graph goes left/right, what number is it approaching (as x gets very large or very small)? Write as “y = #” **If factors in the numerator and denom. cancel, there is a hole in the graph. Write “x ≠ #” at that value where the hole exists**
