1 OAD Telemetry Requirements for “SOMSA” Exit
Ritchard Hewitt 20 February 2008

2 Background There are 117 existing sites with shared Transmission and DNO telemetry assets The OAD assumes Transmission-owned telemetry will be installed to allow DNs to exit the SOMSA agreement. It is generally most efficient and economic to change existing assets at the end of their life cycle. The proposal would enable this economic replacement whilst also facilitating DN exit from SOMSA, if required, by formalising the continued exchange of telemetry signals between DN and NTS via the existing equipment.

3 NGG Telemetry Facilities
Way Forward DN Site Equipment NGG System (iGMS) Data Centre DNO System (GTMS) NGG Telemetry Facilities Telemetry Boundary Shared Site - Existing Shared Site - Enduring

4 Way Forward We have held preliminary discussions with all DNOs on continued access the DN telemetry. Intend to bring forward OAD related Modification Proposal to March Mod Panel.
