3 CMDP and Echelons of Command
The Command Maintenance Discipline Program (CMDP) inspections applies to all Echelons of Command Brigade and below will be formally inspected semi-annually by Parent Organization (Annual for ARNG and RC Units) ACOMS, ASCCs, and DRU’s will conduct formal annual inspections of next lower commands (i.e. division and corps) once every two years for ARNG & RC O-6 level command will keep results of semi- annual (annual for ARNG, RC) inspections for 2 years for brigade, combat aviation brigade or equivalent ACOMs, ASCCs, DRUs will keep results of annual inspections for 2 years (4 years for ARNG & RC commands) NOTE: As Platoon Sergeant you must follow current Army maintenance polices and the company commander’s developed CMDP checklist as a tool to evaluate unit maintenance programs on a day-to-day basis. The CMDP is oriented to combat readiness and sustainability, the overriding principle is the Soldier’s and units’ abilities to maintain their equipment in any environment. 4 Corrective actions after a CMDP
Inspections If major problems with procedure or policy surface during the CMDP inspection, the inspection team will elevate the findings up the chain of command to appropriate level capable of resolving the problems. Sequence of events- Organization Inspected Organizations commander establishes suspense for corrections Supervisor or command is required to use results to improve maintenance discipline Future CMDP inspections will review status of corrective actions taken from last inspection Repeat findings require chain of command notification Reference: DA PAM Chapter 10, paragraph 10-8.c.(9) & (10)
