These standards apply to all parts of the register and all routes to registration. They provide the means to assure us that the student can meet the relevant standards of proficiency by undertaking an approved programme

19. Consultation findings
Wide support for the review and for change Barriers- finance, access, student support (94% orgs / 91% individuals agreed) Use different approaches for individual circumstances (85% orgs / 90% individuals agreed) Programmes: agreement on ‘mixed cohort’ (69% orgs / 76% individuals) more flexibility and ‘tailoring’ ToC: yes for revalidation & overseas but not for FtP Self declaration: ‘split’ and concerns for FtP

20. Our new RtP standards
Provide a 3 month extension for those who can fulfil revalidation but fall short of practice hours
Offer a registration test as an alternative to completion of an RtP programme
Include new Standards for RtP programmes (approvals can commence from May 2019)
