2. Focus Group
The reason why we created a focus group is because we wanted to find out what our target audience want to hear and what they would like us to put on our radio news podcast.

3. Ideas
Our initial idea was to just play hip hop on our radio station but after we sent out surveys and after we created our focus group, we found out that our target audience wants more gene of music such as grime, Hip-Hop and R&B.
Structure
Intro (broadcast name), main headlines of raw stories (copy only, copy with audio to prove the story is relevant), having jingle or beat sound being heard to transition to the next piece of news, main music news, Jingle to weather of South East London and then there will be the outro of the podcast.

 In terms of recourses, the studio room in the college and editing software, we will be using this most of the time to record our radio broadcast.

11. Duration / Target audience
The length of our radio news broadcast will be 2 minutes long maximum.
Our target audience is teenagers who are around the age of 13 – 29 which they have a lower demographic of C2DE
We are going to aim this at teenagers and this will be reflected in our language and tone which should be informal and include London slang as it is based in and around London.
For our script, we are going to have a different presenter for each section such as intro, weather, news, sport and outro which will appeal to the audience and give it more variety.

12. What is a news report?
A typical radio news bulletin is between two and three minutes long.
The purpose of a news headline can give a brief and quick outline of the main story of the station or show.  
News programmes are a type of news that is generally broadcasted on TV, radio or the Internet. This means, that they are regularly scheduled in reports on current events or situations that occur within the world. 
The benefits for our radio station are:
Catchy jingle (theme) for outro and intro of broadcast.

14. Specific Benefits Hip Hop entertainment
People love hip hop gossip to know what is happening in their best hip hop artist lifestyle
Although our radio is station is based around music; hip hop especially, people will still like to know the weather. This weather broadcast will be no longer than 1 minute because our radio station isn’t based around it and if it is too long the target audience will probably become bored and tune out.
Interviews
Interviews are one of the main features in a music radio station because it’s interesting and we will be interviewing some of our audience’s favourite artists.

Our competitors would be radio 1xtra, Capital, Capital Xtra, Kisstory etc.The reason why these radio stations would be our competitors is because they are very similar to us for an example all of our target audiences are urban young youths, we all are informal radio stations that interview artists, hip hop is our main genre in music.
The language used in BBC radio 1 is informal radio station that is aimed at the youth audience.
Newsbeat is a news bulletin session on Radio 1 and Radio 1 extra, BBC News produces it but it is different than any news programme because was created to suit the younger audience and includes entertainment news.
