2. What do I need to do to successfully complete the programme?
Fill in an Initial Skills Assessment
Attend a minimum of 8 lectures and complete feedback on each one
Attend 6 workshops (2 compulsory) and complete feedback on each one
Complete the Skills Assessment
Deadline for initial skills assessment is 23 November

3. The Booking System
Everything from the skills assessments, to workshop bookings and feedback is done via our online booking system. This is accessible via the Graduate School website or at

4. My Profile Screen The Booking System
The “My Profile” screen is a great way to track your progress through the GSA as it contains a history of everything that you have attended and or left feedback for under tab “My workshop History” and all future bookings under tag “My Bookings”

5. Feedback
Once you have attended a workshop or lecture the next time that you log into the booking system a blue box will appear asking you to fill in feedback on this session. If you click on the title of the workshop or lecture that you have attended this will take you through to the feedback screen.

A short questionnaire containing both numerical and written data is filled in on each workshop or lecture that you attend.

In this screen you can easily see which workshops or lectures you have attended and which require feedback to be completed. If you press the “Leave Feedback” button this will also take you through to the feedback screen previously shown to you.

12. Terms of Engagement Please do not talk during lectures
Please do not leave the room during lectures
We would ask everyone to arrive at lectures by 18.15, anyone arriving after this time may not be admitted
Please do not use phones, MP3 players or laptops during the lectures
Please only attend those workshops which are running outside of your timetabled master’s degree commitments
Ensure your student card is swiped at the end of the lecture to record your participation.

13. Terms of Engagement
Those who do not comply with the terms of engagement or anyone found to be attempting to register attendance without actually attending will be automatically disqualified from the award programme.

14. Completion of the GSA
If you successfully attend all required lectures and workshops and fill in both an initial and final skills assessment you will be invited to the GSA Reward Ceremony.

Doing the GSA awards definitely contributed significantly to my postgraduate experience in Kent. I got a chance to meet people from other disciplines and backgrounds I wouldn't have met otherwise. The GSA was an effortless way to go that extra mile, and made me really appreciate other schools of thought.
