*** The Trevor Project, the organization continues to promote valuable resources and support for the LGBTQ+ community. For the first time in our organization’s 21-year history of saving young LGBTQ lives, The Trevor Project’s digital crisis services, TrevorText and TrevorChat, are now available 24/7! We know that LGBTQ youth increasingly are turning to digital channels to access help, which is why The Trevor Project has been investing in a digital transformation to better serve even more young people who need our help. This dramatic expansion of our services is a critical step in meeting LGBTQ youth wherever and whenever they need support. Today we are announcing this important milestone with a campaign led by AT&T and Content Creator Tyler Oakley, an LGBTQ Advocate and a former Trevor Project board member. Each young person supported at any hour of the day moves us closer to our mission of ending LGBTQ youth suicide. Thank you to everyone who enabled this important milestone and to each of you for the role you play in supporting our life-saving work. FAFSA: Free Application for Federal Student Aid
If you are like most Americans, you need help paying for college. The FAFSA will determine how much aid (money) you will receive from the government in the way of students loans (you pay back) and grants (FREE $ - you do not pay back). Fill out the FAFSA and designate the schools on the application you wish to receive your information. You will need the following for yourself and for your parents, assuming you are a dependent: Your Social Security Number Your Alien Registration Number (if you are not a U.S. citizen) Your federal income tax returns, W-2s and other records of money earned. (Note – you may be able to transfer your federal tax return information into your FAFSA by using the IRS Data Retrieval Tool.) Bank statements and records of investments (if applicable) Records of untaxed income (if applicable) A FAFSA ID to sign electronically There is no obligation to accept the student aid, so do NOT ignore this! It could save you hundreds or thousands of dollars. The federal deadline for filing your FAFSA is June 30, 2019, but the state deadline is April 1. Each college may have a different deadline, so inquire now and know what that deadline is. Visit to start your application TODAY.
