1 The Riggins Report Classroom News for the week of September 24-28, 2018 What we’re learning: Reminders: Happy Monday! I am still in disbelief at how fast time is flying by! I am so proud of all my students and I'm amazed at the learning that has taken place! Word Study: This week we will continue our study of vowel teams. We will be focusing on words with long o digraphs such as oa, ow, oe. Reading: We will be working on asking and answering questions to help identify key details in a non-fiction text. Math: We will be moving on to Module 3 this week which focuses on place value. Students will expand their skills and understanding of units by bundling ones, tens, and hundreds. Writing: We will be working on starting our expository writing piece this week. Just a reminder... Our PE day has been changed to Friday. Please remember to wear tennis shoes that day! If you have not signed and returned your child's progress report, please do so ASAP!
