What do you do as a mentor?
Comfort folks who feel like they are in over their heads. Put perspective on the problem. Evaluate the issue from multiple angles. Find a pathway forward More pathways are better. Sometimes there are no good solutions.

How much effort does the average case require you to commit?
Around 8 hours per case, statistically speaking. Every call for assistance is unique. Every customer is unique. Every violation is unique. If things are going well, most of your time is spent doing research and following up with the customer by phone, or in person. Modest time commitment involved in writing up report.

Final thoughts… Lots of folks can be qualified to be an EnviroMentor. The most important trait is a willingness to share your knowledge with others with the goal of making our state resources sustainable and safe. In the broadest sense we are comprised of experienced: Engineering Professionals Legal Professionals Science Professionals Operations Professionals Some of us are more than one!
