By plane Visitors planning to arrive by plane will have to land at Geneva airport (the trip takes approx. 40 minutes by train or car to Lausanne), Zurich airport (approx. 2h30), or Basel airport (Bâle in French, approx. 2h). By train + metro See the Swiss Railways server for timetable and costs to Lausanne train station ("Lausanne Gare CFF"). http://www.sbb.ch/en/home.html Once you are at the central station in Lausanne: * Take the "M2" metro in front of the train station CFF, from Lausanne Gare station to Croisettes leave the metro at Lausanne-Flon station. * Than take the "M1" metro from Lausanne-Flon to the EPFL station. By car Highways are labeled by green signs in Switzerland. You must buy a 40 CHF windscreen sticker at the border or petrol stations.
