3. In what way does the "kingdom of heaven“ suffer violence in Mt.11:12? Mt.11:11 Verily I say unto you, Among them that are born of women there hath not risen a greater than John the Baptist: notwithstanding he that is least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he. 12 And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffereth violence, and the violent take it by force. It is suggested the “kingdom of heaven” in the parables in Matthew 13 described the political conditions surrounding the believers, which can vary depending on time and place It is suggested the kingdom of God at the time of John, who was in prison was to beheaded, that his position was least. Kingdom of heaven also called kingdom of God. Luke13:18 Then said he, Unto what is the kingdom of God like? and whereunto shall I resemble it? 19 It is like a grain of mustard seed, Matthew13:31 Another parable put he forth unto them, saying, The kingdom of heaven is like to a grain of mustard seed, which a man took, and sowed in his field:

Was God's kingdom ever on earth? If yes explain in what sense. God’s Kingdom in Israel under Solomon: 1 Chronicles 29:23 Then Solomon sat on the throne of the LORD as king instead of David his father, and prospered; and all Israel obeyed him. God’s kingdom is an eternal fact with the millennial kingdom but one phase: Psalm 103:19 The LORD hath prepared his throne in the heavens; and his kingdom ruleth over all. God’s kingdom during Jesus’ 1st coming through his return. Matthew11:12 And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffereth violence, and the violent take it by force. God’s kingdom to come. The millennial kingdom will have many more righteous features but even it towards the end will experience rebellion, Rev. 20:7-11.

List three signs that Jesus is about to return and set up the kingdom of God upon earth? Jesus’ parable of the Fig Tree in his Olivet prophecy that the generation who saw Israel become a nation will witness his return. 1 Thessalonians5:1 But of the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you. 2 For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night. 3 For when they shall say, Peace and safety; Revelation11:18 And the nations were angry, and thy wrath is come, and the time of the dead, that they should be judged, and that thou shouldest give reward unto thy servants the prophets, and to the saints, and them that fear thy name, small and great; and shouldest destroy them which destroy the earth. What is the Sampson option?

When Jesus returns, how do we know that most of the world will not know he has returned? A thief comes and departs without notice plus 7 times in the New Testament we are warned Jesus returns as a thief. The last time is Rev. 16 before Armageddon. Revelation16:15 Behold, I come as a thief. Blessed is he that watcheth, and keepeth his garments, lest he walk naked, and they see his shame. 16 And he gathered them together into a place called in the Hebrew tongue Armageddon.

7. [T/F] Jesus returns as a thief to the world but we better be READY and watching. True but why did I ask such an obvious question? Because five virgins didn’t have enough oil in their lamps! How do we get oil into our lamps? (Hint) Psalm119:105 Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path. God’s word and especially Bible prophecy in type corresponds to the oil that produces the light so needed in today’s dark world. 2 Peter1:19 We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts:

Jesus upon the throne of David in Jerusalem (Luke 1:32; Isa.9:6,7) 7. The gospel is preached to the world (Rev.14:6; Rev.10:11; Joel 2:23) 8. Why did Jesus place so much importance upon the kingdom that he sent his disciples preaching the gospel of the kingdom as detailed in Lk.9:1-6? Proverbs29:18 Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he. The kingdom is center to God’s purpose with the earth. Numbers 14:21 But as truly as I live, all the earth shall be filled with the glory of the Lord. Psalm 72:19 And blessed be his glorious name for ever: and let the whole earth be filled with his glory; Amen, and Amen. Habakkuk 2:14 For the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord, as the waters cover the sea.

When we are preaching the gospel what should be our main focus? The Kingdom for the gospel is good news of the millennial kingdom to come upon our troubled earth. That there is a great vision for what is coming will be so much better than today’s world. That God want us to be in the kingdom to come! That we need to believe, obey, be baptized and grow in our love for God being obedient, thankful and loving our neighbour.
