XICF. Resurrection Celebration. 21 April 2019.
He is Alive! Gabe Orea. XICF. Resurrection Celebration. 21 April 2019. Please notice that the resurrection of the dead is not wishful thinking; this teaching is evidence-based. We believe in resurrection due to the historical fact of the person named Jesus who was resurrected from the dead, exactly as it was prophesized in Scripture and by his own statements. Therefore, we do not need to rely on just an idea, or an unfounded wish, but we rely on the power and mercy God displayed when he resurrected Jesus from the death. This historical act of resurrection was so evident and strong, so impossible to deny, that it divided the history of humankind forever. Therefore, Christianity is not just one more option among many others. Christianity is set apart from human philosophies precisely because of the power it has over death. And this can only come from the giver of life, who is God himself. Only him has true power over death. Today we celebrate that: that death has no power over the people of God. Today we celebrate that our Lord Jesus Chris defeated death, and this He is alive! And because he lives, we also live and continue to live forever. I want to share with you 5 blessings that we have because of the resurrection of Jesus Christ. We will make a brief survey of the NT and will make 5 stops, enjoying how Scripture describes and defines resurrection.

1 The Gospels All His children from the past are still around!
31 Now concerning the resurrection of the dead, have you not read what was spoken to you by God , who said, 32 “I am the God of Abraham and the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob”? He is not the God of the dead, but of the living!” Matthew 22

2 Acts Resurrection in Christ is a central message of the Gospel
1 And while they were speaking to the people, the priests and the captain of the temple and the Sadducees approached them, 2 greatly annoyed because they were teaching the people and proclaiming in Jesus the resurrection from the dead. Acts 4.

3 Romans Resurrection is the power to Overcome Sin
8 Now if we died with Christ, we believe that we will also live with him, 9 knowing that Christ, because he has been raised from the dead, is going to die no more, death no longer being master over him. 10 For that death he died, he died to sin once and never again, but that life he lives, he lives to God. 11 So also you, consider yourselves to be dead to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus. Romans 6

4 Corinthians Resurrection makes possible the Full Transformation
of the believer 42 Thus also is the resurrection of the dead. It is sown in corruption, it is raised in incorruptibility. 43 It is sown in dishonor, it is raised in glory. It is sown in weakness, it is raised in power. 44 It is sown a natural body, it is raised a spiritual body. 1 Cor. 15.

5 Peter Resurrection is the means to be born Again! And receive an
Inheritance. 3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to his great mercy has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, 4 into an inheritance imperishable and undefiled and unfading, reserved in heaven for you. 1 Peter 1
