Individual Fellowships (IF) in a nutshell
Objective Support the career development of Experienced Researchers Diversification of skills Grant type Individual, trans-national fellowships Employment in EU Member States or Associated Countries Joint application by researcher and host organisation In academic or non-academic sector Funding for salary plus institutional costs

Two IF variants European Fellowship Global Fellowship
European Fellowship: Fellow goes to host organisation in Europe 1-2 years Global Fellowship Global Fellowship: Fellow goes to partner organisation outside Europe and comes back to host organisation in Europe 2-3 years

Main eligibility criteria
International mobility: in 3 yrs preceding call deadline, <12 months in country of destination Experienced Researchers: >4 yrs research experience or with PhD For GF: EU national or previously long-term EU resident (>5 yrs)

3 Extra panels for European Fellowship
Relaxed mobility rule: in 5 years preceding call deadline, <36 months in country of destination Society and Enterprise Panel (SE) To work at organisation from the non-academic sector Dedicated budget of 8 million Career Restart Panel (CAR) To resume research after career break of at least 12m in 18m prior to deadline Max. duration: 36 months 2x budget of main panels Reintegration Panel (RI) To return and reintegrate in EU Direct mobility from TC to country beneficiary For EU nationals / long term residents 1,5x budget of main panels SE panel Researchers seeking to work on research and innovation projects in an organisation from the non-academic sector will be supported via a separate multi-disciplinary society and enterprise panel of the European Fellowships. The objective of this panel is to facilitate career moves between the academic and non-academic sectors and to open attractive career opportunities for researchers outside academia.

Evaluation criteria 1. Excellence 50%
(Are the research, training and supervision excellent?) 2. Impact 30% (What will the fellowship contribute, e.g. to your career?) 3. Implementation 20% (Are management, work plan and host institute of high quality?) Concrete, realistic, achievable objective? Wat are your goals to be reached? what is relevant a/h onderzoek. Vernieuwend zijn. State of the art makt een grote sprong. What kind of training will you recieve? Are you now worth more on the job market? What can you do after this fellowship with what you have learned? What is the added value of your fellowship on your CV. Hoe alle praktische aspecten; what does your workplan look like ? What will you exactly be doing those 1-2 years? What kind of facilities are there for you? How is the supervision organised? Ga je een Personal Career Development Plan opstellen together with your supervisor? What will be written down in the Partnership Agreement when you will be seconded to an institution in for example the US. In general you’ll have to score more than 90 points to be considered for funding.
