Changes in αSMA levels by immunosuppressants and pirfenidone in HFL-1 cells with and without TGF-β1. HFL-1 cells were treated with 10 ng/mL TGF-β1 in the presence of the indicated concentrations of FK506 (A), cyclophosphamide (B, CPA), azathiopurine (C, AZA), rapamycin (D, Rapa), hydrocortisone (E, HC), and pirfenidone (F, PFD) for 48 h. Cell lysates were subjected to Western blotting for αSMA and β-tubulin. (G) Quantitative data for αSMA levels at the indicated concentration of each drug are expressed as fold changes from the TGF-β1-alone response.
