Purpose of Event Working toward building an awareness and support for OER To answer: Why ZTC? Eliminates textbook cost Students start first day of class with all materials necessary for success Financial aid could be used for other educational and living expenses Instructor rights to edit OER content for accessibility that publisher content does not typically allow

Student Impact 25.5% of MJC students (4,631) currently offered ZTC
18,148 MJC students enrolled in credit and non-credit courses at census as of Spring 2019 125 ZTC courses offered in Spring 2019 59% of MJC students receiving financial aid as of Spring 2019 56.9% Hispanic 3.7% African American ZTC has room to grow. Hoping that ZTC can positively impact this 59%.

Joined the OER Commons groups for webinars and learning to use OERCommons.org, a public digital library of OER Instructors currently working on OER Chris Briggs and Gretchen Leuenhagen using OER for thematic units in Reading 184 and posting to Canvas Commons
