Look at the pictures. What job do you believe these people do? Discuss with your partner. Give reasons for your decision? Students need to look at the pictures and decided on a job. They need to explain their reasons for their choice. Why do they believe that their job is the correct. If they are not 100% sure they need to come up with three questions which the teacher will answer only with yes or no.

Watch the clip – what education/ qualifications does an Aid Worker need to have? What skills and abilities/ personal characteristics does an Aid Worker need to have?

Qualifications Many people who enter this area of work have a degree in social sciences or a relevant vocational subject, although not all posts require a particular degree. The following subjects may increase your chances: economics; human rights; international development or development studies; languages; logistics; medicine, nursing and other health-related subjects; social policy; water or sanitation engineering. Entry without a degree is unlikely unless applicants have substantial relevant experience.
