Blood supply of brain: 1- All lateral surface (except posterior lobe):
Middle cerebral artery 2- Medial surface (except posterior part): Anterior cerebral artery 3- All posterior part: posterior cerebral artery
3
Frontal lobe: 1- Pre central gyrus:
functional area: primary motor area . - Superior, middle, inferior frontal gyrus all have : premotor area 2- Superior frontal gyrus has : Premotor area + supplemental motor area. 3- Middle frontal gyrus has: Premotor area + frontal eye field. 4- Inferior frontal gyrus has: Premotor area + broca's area (motor speech area). Blood supply of frontal lobe: Middle cerebral artery
4
Parietal lobe: 1-Postcentral gyrus: 2-Superior, inferior lobules:
- Primary somatosensory area + gustatory area 2-Superior, inferior lobules: - Secondary somatosensory area Blood supply of parietal lobe: Middle cerebral artery.
5
Temporal lobe: 1- Superior temporal gyrus:
- auditory area (Primary & secondary) - wernicke’s area (sensory speech area). Blood supply: Middle cerebral artery.
6
Occipital Lobe: Calcarine Sulcus : - Primary + Secondary visual areas
Blood supply: posterior cerebral artery.

Medulla Oblongata: Parts : pyramid, olive, inferior cerebellar peduncle Nuclei : - Hypoglossal nerve - Accessory - Glossopharyngeal - Vagus nerves - Trigeminal sensory nuclei - Olivary nuclei - Vestibular Blood supply : Anterior, posterior inferior cerebellar arteries Groove between pyramid and olive Between olive and inferior cerebellar peduncle
10
Pons : Nuclei : - Trigeminal - Abducens - Facial - Vestibulocochlear
- Pontine nuclei Blood Supply : Pontine branches of basilar artery
11
Midbrain : Nuclei : - Occulomotor anteriorly - Trochlear posteriorly
- Red nucleus - Substantia nigra Blood supply : Posterior cerebral, and Superior cerebellar arteries
