2 Which nation do you represent?
What is your nation’s final solution to the crisis? Did you know: In 1938, first lady Eleanor Roosevelt challenged the segregation rules at the Southern Conference on Human Welfare in Birmingham, Alabama, so she could sit next to African-American educator and activist Mary McLeod Bethune. Roosevelt would come to refer to Bethune as "her closest friend in her age group." BR #1: Monday Feb. 18

Did you know: As a child Muhammad Ali was refused an autograph by his boxing idol, Sugar Ray Robinson. When Ali became a prizefighter, he vowed never to deny an autograph request, which he honored throughout his career. BR #2 Tuesday Feb. 19

Did you know: John Baxter Taylor was the first African American to win an Olympic gold medal, Alexa Canady became the first female African-American neurosurgeon in the United States, and Quincy Jones is the most Grammy-nominated artist in the history of the awards with 76 nominations and 26 awards. Describe the nervous breakdown that Britain and France were suffering in 1917. List the 3 reasons why US entered WWI. Did you know: Malcolm X was a Muslim minister, a black political activist, and public speaker. He sparked controversy because of his beliefs on race and other social issues. Shortly after his conversion, he made a pilgrimage to Mecca. The trip changed him. Malcolm X would later say that seeing Muslims of "all colors, from blue-eyed blonds to black-skinned Africans," coming together as equals persuaded him that racial problems could be overcome through Islam. On February 21, 1965, he was shot dead at the Audubon Ballroom in Manhattan. BR #4 Thursday Feb. 21
