TEAM BUILDER Focuses staff on meeting the organization's vision, mission, and goals: Provides an inclusive workplace that fosters the development of others, facilitates cooperation and teamwork, and supports constructive resolution of conflicts; Encourages team-work and cross-functional collaboration within the organization, and with other United Ways. OUTWARD TURNING Works across private, public, and corporate sectors to improve conditions in communities: Develops strategies and programs that align organizational priorities and actions with community aspirations; Ensures staff engages in discussion with external constituents to fully understand their needs, concerns and aspirations. BUSINESS ACUMEN Balances strategic and operational realities: Meets with business leaders in community to understand economic environment; Analyzes nonprofit and philanthropic sector trends and their impact on United Way. NETWORK ORIENTED Enables distributed leadership: Actively promotes and communicates within the United Way network the importance of aligning around a common agenda and shared aspirations to drive network-wide results. 10 UWW Talent Management Resources
Executive Leadership Development Program is designed for United Way Chief Executive Officers to hone their capacity to lead in this new world of volatility, uncertainty, ambiguity, and change. This is a year-long leadership development experience that combines some of the best leadership development institutions in the world such as Center for Creative Leadership, Harvard Business School and Deloitte University. This program is only offered to United Way leaders. Advanced Leadership Program program represents accelerated year-long development experience, designed for senior level professionals that have been at least 5-years or longer with United Way. The program is focused on strengthening the leadership pipeline of the network by developing Senior Level Professionals preparing for C-Suite roles and who are dedicated to United Way.   United Way Fellowship Program is leadership development program designed for top performing, high-potential future leaders who are mid-career professionals already demonstrated some significant successes and results in their current roles. This program is a signature leadership experience that has strong Alumni Network and pride itself by high-caliber leadership development experience focused on developing critical competencies to prepare mid-career professionals for future leadership roles in United Way network.
