Mat 19:3 The Pharisees also came unto him, tempting him, and saying unto him, Is it lawful for a man to put away his wife for every cause? 
Deu 24:1 When a man hath taken a wife, and married her, and it come to pass that she find no favour in his eyes, because he hath found some uncleanness in her: then let him write her a bill of divorcement, and give it in her hand, and send her out of his house.

Lev 5:3 Or if he touch the uncleanness of man, whatsoever uncleanness it be that a man shall be defiled withal, and it be hid from him; when he knoweth of it, then he shall be guilty. 
Lev 20:10 And the man that committeth adultery with another man's wife, even he that committeth adultery with his neighbour's wife, the adulterer and the adulteress shall surely be put to death.

Deu 23:14 For the LORD thy God walketh in the midst of thy camp, to deliver thee, and to give up thine enemies before thee; therefore shall thy camp be holy: that he see no unclean thing in thee, and turn away from thee. 
Divorce happens because one or both spouses reject the Word of God.

1 Cor. 6:6 But brother goeth to law with brother, and that before the unbelievers. 7 Now therefore there is utterly a fault among you, because ye go to law one with another. Why do ye not rather take wrong? why do ye not rather suffer yourselves to be defrauded?

1. Maintain a Soft Heart.
A soft heart wins with God and it wins in marriage.
Pro 15:1 A soft answer turneth away wrath: but grievous words stir up anger. 
Pro 25:15 By long forbearing is a prince persuaded, and a soft tongue breaketh the bone.

Two soft-hearted spouses can and will
work through anything.

Marriage between one man and one woman is the most preeminent earthly relationship.

Children leave, spouses cleave.

1. Maintain a Soft Heart.
2. Maintain a Godly View of Marriage.
God’s view of marriage is very high.
Divorce reveals a low view of marriage.

When Divorce Might be Considered:
1. Adultery.

1 Cor. 7:10 And unto the married I command, yet not I, but the Lord, Let not the wife depart from her husband: 11 But and if she depart, let her remain unmarried, or be reconciled to her husband: and let not the husband put away his wife. 
1 Cor. 7:15 But if the unbelieving depart, let him depart. A brother or a sister is not under bondage in such cases: but God hath called us to peace.

When Divorce Might be Considered:
1. Adultery.
2. Abandonment.
3. Abuse.
