What is Coaching? Coaching
Coaching – according to the International Coach Federation Coaching is defined as: “partnering with clients in a thought-provoking and creative process that inspires them to maximize their personal and professional potential.”
3
Coaching as the priority:
Any tools, assessments or recommended measures are simply tools to assist the client on their journey. The goal is to first find out what the client is hoping to accomplish and help the client gain clarity around the goal or wish. The coach can listen to what the client is specifically asking for and then if appropriate, offer an assessment tool to help the client gain insight into that area. Any tools offered should always be in line with the objectives of the coaching that the client has outlined, not something the coach thinks is the appropriate thing for the client. The coach should not direct or lead. The client always leads the coaching session.

Tool: The Wheel of Life “When life is busy, or all your energy is focused on a special project, it's all too easy to find yourself off balance, not paying enough attention to important areas of your life. While you need to have drive and focus if you're going to get things done, taking this too far can lead to frustration and intense stress. That's when it's time to take a "helicopter view" of your life, so that you can bring things back into balance. This is where the Wheel of Life® (or Life Wheel) can help. Commonly used by professional life coaches, it helps you consider each area of your life in turn and assess what's off balance. As such, it helps you to identify areas that need more attention”.
