9. Key Findings
The kinds of outcomes associated with certain integrative approaches in higher education—including written and oral communication skills, teamwork skills, ethical decision making, critical thinking, and the ability to apply knowledge in real-world settings—are the educational outcomes that many employers are asking for today.
The integration of the arts and humanities with medical training is associated with outcomes such as increased empathy, resilience, and teamwork, improved visual diagnostic skills, increased tolerance for ambiguity, and increased interest in communication skills.

10. Key Recommendations Do it and Evaluate it: Remove the Barriers:
The available evidence is sufficient to urge the support and evaluation of courses and programs that integrate the arts and humanities with the natural sciences, social sciences, technology, engineering, mathematics, and medicine in higher education.
Remove the Barriers:
When implementing integrative curricula, faculty, administrators, and accrediting bodies need to explore, identify, and mitigate constraints (e.g., tenure and promotion criteria, institutional budget models, workloads, accreditation, and funding sources) that hinder integrative efforts in higher education
