Fig. 1 T2-weighted magnetic resonance image of the brain, showing pronounced enlargement of lateral ventricles that is out of proportion to degree of cortical atrophy. An unrelated finding is scattered focal areas of increased T2 signal in subcortical white matter bilaterally, most likely due to small-vessel ischémie disease.
