2 Purpose of DANTES? To help Service members and Veterans pursue their educational goals and earn degrees or certifications both during and after their service

3 DANTES DANTES is the DoD agency that is responsible for providing voluntary education program support and funding the test fees of the GED, ACT, SAT, DSST, CLEP, GRE, GMAT, and Praxis exams for members of the U.S. Armed Forces.

4 GED A high-school diploma is still the key to most entry-level jobs, vocational training, and completing a college education. The GED test offers an alternative for those who didn't finish high school but have goals for the future. The GED Testing Service offers the most-recognized method for earning your high-school-equivalency credential.

5 ACT/SAT Both the ACT and SAT are standardized tests that help evaluate a potential candidate's learning ability for advising, placement, and retention. Free study guides for SAT and will reimburse for SAT costs Receive reimbursements for up to two tests at ACT test centers

6 DANTES Subject Standardized Tests (DSST)
DSSTs program is an extensive series of examinations in college subjects that are comparable to the final or end of course examinations in undergraduate courses.

7 College Level Examination Program (CLEP)
CLEP offers a series of 33 exams that let the TSM earn college credit for introductory-level classes- the kind most often taken in the first two years of college.

8 Graduate Admission Exams (GRE & GMAT)
DANTES provides reimbursement for the GRE General and GRE Subject Tests to help you meet entrance requirements for graduate school and/or military-specific programs. DANTES reimburses GRE® test fees for eligible military personnel.

9 Praxis The Praxis® tests measure your academic skills and subject-specific content knowledge needed for teaching. DANTES reimburses Praxis® test fees for eligible military personnel.

12 Service members Opportunity College (SOC)
Due to the nature of mobility faced by Service members, Service members Opportunity College (SOC) criteria stipulates that institutional policies and practices be fair, equitable, and effective in recognizing the special and often limiting conditions faced by military students. soc.aascu.org/

13 Troops to Teachers (TTT)
TTT program helps current and former members of the Armed Forces transition into second careers as K-12 teachers upon separation from military service.

14 Program Eligibility There is no cost to participate in the program. The TTT program provides counseling, referrals, and job assistance to all current and former members of the U.S. Armed Forces who want to transition to a teaching career. Those who meet certain education, military service, and application requirements and agree to teach full time for at least three years at a qualifying elementary or secondary school may be eligible for financial assistance of up to $10,000
