2 Give That Left Brain a Break!
Blind contour drawing is the time-honored gateway to understanding realistic, representational drawing, You may find that you will struggle to figure out what you should be seeing and to trust that not looking at their paper will actually facilitate what you’re truly seeing. Many people typically draw too quickly to catch details that you might miss without really SEEING and sneak peeks at their paper, losing necessary focus on your subject. The goal is to NOT LOOK at what you are drawing but to look at the object ONLY

What is a one-line drawing? A drawing that uses one continuous line without any breaks

What is a blind contour? A type of one-line drawing in which the artist is drawing the subject without looking at the drawing paper

25 Project Description For this project, you will be required to use what you have learned about one-line drawings and blind contour drawings and either… (1) Create a series (minimum of 3-5 drawings depending on the complexity) of either a one-line drawing or blind contour (colour or black and white) (2) Create one large drawing of either a one-line drawing or blind contour (colour or black and white) with multiple subjects (minimum of 3 subjects) 3D Translation: You will pick ONE (minimum) line drawing or blind contour that you have done and create a 3D wire sculpture

This includes the studio work that we did together as a class as well as your own practice Any images that you found interesting glued into your sketchbook Final Art Piece Written Reflection Observation and Conversation Participation and clean up
