Classroom News for the week of December 3-7, 2018
What we’re learning:

I hope everyone had a great weekend! December is already here and we have lots to do before Christmas break! Here’s a quick look at what we’re working on this week…
Word Study: We are working on vowel diphthong syllable patterns this week. -oo, -ew, -ou, -ue
Reading: We are continuing on with our Westward Expansion unit. We will be learning about the Erie Canal, and the invention of the steamboat while focusing on finding the main idea and asking/answering questions.
Math: We will be taking the mid-module assessment for module 4 on Friday. To prepare, we will be completing a practice test in class on Wednesday, along with a take home test for extra practice.
Science/Social Studies: We will be working on mapping the areas we’re learning about in our Westward Expansion unit.
There are still a few progress reports that have not been sent back, please sign and return them as soon as possible. Thanks!
Don’t forget to send your child in tennis shoes for PE on Fridays please!
