To respond to the needs of the user community, who acknowledged certain challenges implementing the policy in their organizations To address gaps in the existing policy and areas that could be strengthened and clarified To recognize continuous process improvement, agility, and lessons learned as well as rapidly evolving acquisition practices for software / IT, and the need for simple administrative updates WHEN/HOW: April 2018 – present Collaborative working group sessions with relevant functional, acquisition, and chief management officer stakeholders Working group sessions led by OUSD(A&S) in partnership with OCMO and DoD CIO WHAT DID WE ENHANCE: More flexibility to tailor governance processes and to delegate down to the lowest level possible Incremental CCA compliance Pushing more collaboration between key stakeholders early on More focus on the “sustainment” portion of the lifecycle – or capability support – and how to responsibly manage and govern IT for the long-term without having to necessarily re-start the process again More of a push on integrated testing and continuous cybersecurity focus
