3. My position I believe strong AI is possible
I believe the mind is what the brain does
I am deeply interested in biologically inspired approaches
I don’t think human intelligence is the only form of intelligence
You don’t have to accept any of this!!!!!

4. Conduct of the Class
I expect you to have read the materials before class
We will discuss/lecture on the ideas
There will be in class problem solving to try out the ideas.
Project – we will have two main projects

5. Virtual Human Project Construct a system that can dialog
More later tonight

6. Game Agent Project Play a game of strategy Uses an agent architecture
Can be written in almost anything – but with Java you will have a shell
We will have a tournament the last night!

1-2 page paper about an AI system
