www.pfeg.org/learningaboutmoney 2 Dear Squirrels, I have heard from friends in Storyland that you have been reading some stories about me and my friends and I wondered if you could help me out. After my little bit of fun with the Giant, mum and I decided to go on holiday. We have had a wonderful time but since the golden harp went on strike and the goose flew away, we have started to get a bit short of money. Mum says that it is important that we save what we have left and make sure that we dont get into debt, but I dont really know what that means. I am sending you the rest of my money so that you can find a way of making sure it is safe. I will write again soon with my new address. We are going to go to a place where things are less expensive than here. Best wishes Jack Squirrels Class Applegarth Primary School Upwell Road Northallerton North Yorkshire DL7 8QF

www.pfeg.org/learningaboutmoney 6 Dear Squirrels, You will see that Mum and I have moved from Spain to Africa. I got a job working on a boat to pay for the journey. We are living in this village in Ghana and working with the people. They do not have much money either and they have to think very carefully about how they spend the money they do have. Many of them grow cocoa beans on their small farms. They sell it to people who work for the Fair Trade organisation because they get a good price there, but they still dont have much money left for luxuries. It has made me start to think about how I have been spending my money and that I must decide the difference between what I need and what I want. When you have sorted out what to do with my gold, please write to me here at Fenaso Domeabra. Much Love, Jack.
