Progressive Verbs: Use the verb “to be” and another verb ending in –ing. Present Progressive Verbs: I am eating a sandwich. You are reading a book. He is smiling at me. We are visiting the shop. They are enjoying the show. It is raining today. You are studying hard. She is earning her reward. Past Progressive Verbs: You were eating the cake. I was asking for a kitten. We were watching TV. They were painting. He was grumbling. She was waving at her dad. It was flying across the sky. You were laughing at him.
