Transaction Setup in ExpertInsure
House & Agent Commissions Commissions are created and managed in Silver Financials (SF). Commissions passed to ExpertInsure (EI) can be system default, carrier specific and agent specific (Agent specific is new and still in testing). EI queries Silver Financials when it lands on the “Policy Cost” page in EI quoting. Users can override default commissions on “Policy Cost” page in EI at point of quoting or binding. EI does store both house & agent commission results. Both commission percentage and dollar amount. However, you should run all commission reports from SF. Installment Plans Installment Plans are created and managed in SF. Installment Plans can be carrier specific to ensure plans not appropriate for a carrier is not accidently selected. EI queries SF when it lands on the quoting “Policy Cost” page in EI. In binding you can override the installment plan selected in quoting. EI does store the installment plan description as an FYI only. Billing Types Carrier Bill (Direct Bill) – The carrier is billing the Insured direct Agency Bill – You are billing the Agent direct Insured Bill – You are billing the Insured direct (May not be used in your business) These billing types are selected in EI on the quoting “Policy Cost” page and passed to SF at posting time. User selection in quoting can be overwritten in binding once you land on the binding “Policy Cost” page. EI does store the billing plan as an FYI only.

Posting to Silver Financials in ExpertInsure
The actual transaction is defined in EI and those details are passed to SF at posting time Billing Type & Installment Plan Carrier ID or Wholesaler ID / Carrier ID combination Broker ID and Broker Details Insured ID and Insured Details Policy Details like Policy Number, Effective / Expiration date, Line of Business, Tax State, etc. No coverage details are ever passed to SF If a user post a NEW or REN business and realizes a mistake was made, they can “Update Binder” in EI, correct the mistake and repost. SF will repost the transaction if there is any money change in next post. This includes changing billing type or installment plan. If a transaction post as either agency (or insured bill), SF will return an invoice to EI to be forwarded to the agent. No invoice is returned for Carrier Bill (Direct Bill). If the user did an “Update Binder” and reposted, an updated invoice is returned to EI. Posting any endorsement post one time only. If you did an “Update Endorsement” and reposted in EI, SF does not actually repost the transaction. If there is a premium change, these changes must be made directly in SF. A repost is not performed due to the complexity of installment billing. The EI user must inform the accounting department of these changes in billing. Users cannot change billing type or installment plan with an endorsement in EI. Changes must be made in SF directly. Users should log a support ticket with Blue Goose so we can make installment or billing type change. This ensures the information presented to the EI user is accurate. If a name or address change is made for agent or insured, those changes are reflected in SF at the next posting. Carrier name & address changes can only be managed in SF.

Other Posting Considerations
When users post any endorsement, the policy number and effective date must match or the post will return an error. This is done to ensure posted transactions stay in sync. If the policy number or effective date changes in EI, these must be manually corrected in SF. The EI user must inform the accounting department of these changes or if they have security in SF, make themselves in SF. If user repost any NEW or REN transaction, but changed policy number or effective date in EI, these changes must be manually corrected in SF or the repost will return an error.

Transfer Table in Silver Financials
The EI Transfer Table in SF is a way to see EI posted transactions EI and posted status. Shows details about the transaction sent from EI to SF. To get to the EI Transfer Table: Enterprise Menu | Maintenance | EI Transfer Viewer There are 2 tabs: EIPolicyTransfer – Policy Shell Details EIPolicyDetailTransfer – Premium, Tax & Fee, Commission Details The “Processed” column indicates a successful post or not: If blank, it did not post If 1, posted successfully If 3, it was an error then an newer version posted fine. I.E., post first time and got an error so is null, second post same, third post it posted fine. SF will update the first two post as 3 and the third becomes 1 If 4, no financial change resend the invoice associated with Processed = 1 If 5, means it was a 1 but reposted. The new posting becomes the new 1 and the old 1 became a 5 If you double click the transaction on the EIPolicyTransfer page, it will take you directly to the “Policy Maintenance” screen in SF so you can view posting details. NOTE - It will only take you to this screen if posted successfully. There is a “View Invoice” button in the bottom left corner of this screen where users can hit to see the actual invoice PDF document. SF users must have proper security access in SF to see these details.
