1 God, glory, and gold. The explorers incentive.

2 Jacques Cartier Jacques Cartier was a French explorer.
A big accomplishment of Cartier was that he discovered the St.Lawrence river. Cartier was born in 1491 and died in 1557. Also in 1535 he discovered Mont real. Jacques Cartier explored because he wanted gold. I know this because “thinkquest.org” states that “Cartier hoped that his prisoners would tell him where their gold mine was located, but there was really no gold mine.” This shows he wanted the fortune from the prisoners “mine”

3 Hernan Cortez Hernan Cortez was a Spanish explorer.
A big accomplishment of Cortez's was that in 1521 he conquered the Aztecs and the city of Tenochtitlan. In 1523 he became the governor and captain general of New Spain. Hernan Cortez explored because he wanted glory and gold. I know this because “thinkquest.org” states that “Cortez was eager for more power and conquests,”, and “ he asked for a huge ransom of gold and jewels,”. This shows he wants both gold and glory.

4 Charles Lindbergh Charles was an aviator from Detroit and grew up in Minnesota. Lindbergh learned to fly when he was only twenty! Wow! On May, 20th, 1927 Charles set off from Long Island to cross the Atlantic Ocean. The trip across the Atlantic took him approximately 33 hours and 30 minutes. The reason that Lindbergh took this flight is gold. I know this because “thinkquest.org” states that “ In 1926 he heard of a 25,000 dollar prize,”. This shows that he did the flight just for the money.

5 Amerigo Vespucci North and South America are named after him. Amerigo Vespucci was a trader in Spain looking for a shorter route to Asia. Amerigo died in 1512. Vespucci was born in Florence, Italy and was educated by his uncle about business. The reason that Amerigo explored is gold. I know this because “thinkquest.com” states that “ as a trader he was very interested in a quicker way to sail to asia.”. This shows that he was interested in making money.
