Ms. Foret’s Star Report Ms. Foret’s Class Room 605 Week of September 4th – 7th A Peek at Our Week Tidbits Upcoming Events Reminders Reading: 2nd Grade – characters, setting, story structure 3rd Grade – Charlotte’s Web Language: 2nd Grade – types of nouns, short vowels 3rd Grade – predicates Math: 2nd Grade – addition & subtraction within 100 3rd Grade - division Science: 2nd Grade – land and water 3rd Grade – force & motion Social Studies: 2nd Grade – our community & its physical environment 3rd Grade – regions & maps Please read with your child, daily. This will help your child in all subject areas. Talk to him/her about what you’re reading, ask questions, talk about the pictures, etc. September 4th – Papa John’s Night September 5th – Lockdown Drill September 5th – Open House 5:30 - 7:10 (Gather in cafeteria at 5:15 & wait to be dismissed to classrooms) September 7th – BOP’s Shake Day Our parish has adopted a new Reading curriculum for grades K, 1st, and 2nd. Students will no longer read a story of the week. Instead, we will read a variety of texts and focus on applying skills within a variety of texts. We do have snack every afternoon. You have the option to send a snack with your child every day or you may send snacks in bulk and I’ll let you know when your child’s supply is running low. There is a mini-refrigerator in our classroom, in the event that your child brings something that requires refrigeration. If your child has any food allergies or sensitivities, please let me know as soon as possible. It is not uncommon for us to do activities in class that include food so I want to be sure that I’m keeping everyone safe! School Phone #:
