ECU Foundation Xtender Application
Viewing ECU Foundation Fund Agreements in INB Banner We at the ECU Foundation have developed a way for individual colleges and academic units to view the fund agreements related to their scholarships and Foundation funds through the online application Xtender. Xtender is the application used by the college or academic unit to store documents for use by individuals throughout the campus community. Today, we hope to give you a basic overview of the application and explain how you and those in your office will find it beneficial. The ECU Foundation Application contains all of our recent and historical Fund Agreements for every organization across campus. They are organized by Fund Number, Fund Name, organization code and Scholarship detail code. This overview will equip you to search and view documents.

Conducting Queries Wild Card Character is: *
Data can be entered in as many or as few fields as desired If searching for a single agreement, FUND NUMBER is most effective. CASE is not important To conduct search press Enter or click Submit In order to look up the documents you need, you will use the query screen shown here. There are a few key things to keep in mind when you query the document database. First, the Wild Card character is an asterisk. If, for example, you wanted to look up all of your college’s ET funds, you could type ET* into the Fund Number field and it would return every fund on file that starts with ET. If you want to get more specific, you can type in an entire Fund Number. This query screen allows the user to insert as much or as little data as they would like. Once you are satisfied with the data you have entered, you can hit the enter key OR mouse click the SUBMIT button to see the results. There are a couple of things you should keep in mind in order to make this process as easy as possible. First, FUND NUMBER is the most effective way to get the document you want. The fund names are not standardized and therefore it will be hard to type in the name and be sure the data you get back is exactly what you are looking for. Second, CASE is not important. You do not have to worry about using all caps. No matter how you input text, it will return any data that matches it.

Navigating Your Fund Agreement
The document can be ed to anyone with access to the Application To send it to someone without access, click View as PDF and send the file that is created as an attachment. Once you have executed your query, the screen will show the results like so. It will show the number of results, and all of the index data related to each document returned. In order to open the document, you can click on the little icon that looks like a sheet of paper. It is important to note that the little green arrow offers you other options that are outlined in your handout.
4
Navigation On Document Screen
This is the screen you will see once you open the document. There are some key buttons you will want to recognize and use as you navigate through the document. The first, are the page and subpage buttons. These will allow you to move through the pages of the document. Some documents have more than one main page. This is because when we imported the PDF, we imported part of it and then the rest of it later. The bar at the bottom of the screen shows how many pages there are. This way, if you can’t seem to get to the other pages of a fund agreement, this will explain why. You may need to go through the subpages or other versions. This will be made more clear when I show you the demo after this overview. The other important navigation feature is the page width view function. If the document comes up too small to read, these buttons will make viewing easier.
5
Viewing Document Index
Sometimes you may want to be able to see the index data about a document. This data includes the fund number, the fund name, the organization code, the college code and the scholarship detail code, if applicable. In order to view this summary, you will need to select the “INDEX” icon located at the top of the screen. Then the screen shown here will appear. At this juncture it is important to note that this information should NEVER be modified by anyone other than Foundation Staff. Does anyone have any questions before we open the Xtender Application and show you a quick demo? (move to Xtender for demo)

Requesting Access to Xtender Application
To request access please follow the instructions included in your handout. To request access to the Xtender application, please follow the step by step instructions included with your handout. It may take a couple of weeks for access to be granted. There are a couple of key things you will need to remember when you apply for access, and I am going to show you those via OneStop. On the OneStop tools tab, you will see the hyperlink, “Banner Security Access” Click on this hyperlink to access the Security Screen. Next click on the word “Finance” this should open a pop-up window. You may have to momentarily disable your pop-up blocker if the window doesn’t come up. It is very important that the only thing you do on this screen is click “SUBMIT” do not change any of the information that is already present there. Clicking submit will take you back to the main security screen and there should now be a check mark next to the word finance. From here, you need to click the box next to the word Xtender and include the following, word for word, in the Comment box: Once all of these steps have been competed, click Submit and log out of OneStop. Moving forward further information about your request should be sent to your . Step by Step instructions will be provided along the way. Does anyone have any questions?
