5 Joy to The World 125 CCLI No

6 Joy to the world, the Lord is come
Joy to the world, the Lord is come! Let earth receive her King; Let every heart prepare Him room, And heaven and nature sing, And heaven and nature sing, And heaven, and heaven, and nature sing.

7 Joy to the world, the Savior reigns
Joy to the world, the Savior reigns! Let men their songs employ; While fields and floods, rocks, hills and plains Repeat the sounding joy, Repeat the sounding joy, Repeat, repeat, the sounding joy.

8 No more let sin and sorrow grow, Nor thorns infest the ground;
He comes to make His blessings flow Far as the curse is found, Far as, far as the curse is found.

9 He rules the world with truth and grace, And makes the nations prove The glories of His righteousness, And wonders of His love, And wonders of His love, And wonders, wonders, of His love.

48 Happiness is essentially an emotion or a feeling.
Happiness is triggered - based on other people, things, places, thoughts and events. To enjoy something is to be happy – have happiness in relation to that something

49

50 Joy and happiness are very different.
Joy is not an emotion or a feeling – it is state of being True joy is consistent and is internal. Joy is a fruit of the Spirit

51 joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,
Galatians 5 22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,  23 gentleness, self-control.  Against such there is no law.

52 True joy comes when you are at peace with God and others
True joy comes when you make peace with who you are, why you are and how you are

53 but experience real joy!
You can be unhappy but experience real joy!

54 2 My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials,
James 1 2 My brethren, count it all joy  when you fall into various trials,  3 knowing that the testing of your faith

55 4 But let patience have its perfect work,
…produces patience.  4 But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing.

Matthew 2 9 When they heard the king, they departed; and behold, the star which they had seen in the East went before them…

59 …till it came and stood over where the young Child was.
10 When they saw the star, they rejoiced with exceedingly great joy.

61 Luke 2 27…[Simeon] came by the Spirit into the temple. And when the parents brought in the Child Jesus, to do for Him according to the custom of the law, 28 he took Him up in his arms and blessed God and said:

65 10 Then [Nehemiah] said to them,
“Go your way, eat the fat, drink the sweet,  and send portions to those for whom nothing is prepared;

Do not sorrow, for the joy of the Lord  is your strength.”

73 Cain brought an offering of the fruit of the ground to the Lord.
Genesis 4 Cain brought an offering of the fruit of the ground to the Lord.  4 Abel also brought of the firstborn of his flock and of their fat.

74 And the Lord respected Abel and his offering,
5 but He did not respect Cain and his offering. And Cain was very angry, and his countenance fell.

75 7 If you do well, will you not be accepted?
6 So the Lord said to Cain, “Why are you angry? And why has your countenance fallen?  7 If you do well, will you not be accepted?

76 And its desire is for you, but you should rule over it.”
And if you do not do well, sin lies at the door. And its desire is for you, but you should rule over it.”

77 8 Now Cain talked with Abel his brother; and it came to pass,
when they were in the field, that Cain rose up against Abel his brother and killed him.
